Guidelines for Insulin Dosing using the Dexcom G5 CGM System in the School Setting On December 20, 2016, the FDA approved the Dexcom G5 Mobile Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System (Dexcom G5) for insulin dosing for patients ages 2 years and older.

The Dexcom G5 is the only CGM system that has been FDA approved for this use.

Tools for the Diabetes Trainer This toolkit is a folder of materials designed for use by a school nurse, diabetes educator or other health care professional with expertise in diabetes.

These resources will help to teach school staff about diabetes basics and train select staff to perform diabetes management tasks.

Helping the Student with Diabetes Succeed: A Guide for School Personnel This free guide, created by the National Diabetes Education Program, a partnership between the National Institutes of Health, the CDC, and over 200 other organizations, including the Association, is comprehensive and user-friendly resource that provides school staff with needed knowledge to help meet students' routine and emergency diabetes needs throughout the school day.
